Chancez moi!!!

I'm really interested in Davidson, but I don't think I'll apply ED just because I want to weigh my options well. Without further ado:

White Male

First of all, know that I am in the IB program, and I hope that means a lot to Davidson.

Class Rank: 11 out of 310
GPA: unweighted 3.86 / weighted 4.88

SAT R 750
M 770
W 700

SAT II Math 2 770
USHist 680
Literat 680

I will take more soon, and my Spanish will definitely be over a 750.

ACT 33 (math 36 and english 35)

I will have taken about 18 AP and IB exams by the end of my senior year, and my senior schedule is almost all IB classes.

Assume my ECs are sufficient, because they are and I don't feel like writing them all out.

Also, I know Davidson places a lot of weight on essays and recommendations, so I will be working a lot on those.

Much appreciated!

You’ve got a very good shot. Don’t take Davidson lightly though. For better or worse, Davidson doesn’t always take the statistically “top” students in its pools. Often, they’ll opt for the kid who has shown greater interest/made more of an effort/shown better “personal characteristics” (whatever that means) over the kid with great test scores, etc. It’s a peculiar strategy (it’s probably due in part to the fact that Davidson does not want to be any kid’s safety school).

Yeah… gonna repeat Blue’s message. Academically/number-wise, I’m sure you recognize that you’re pretty high in Davidson’s numbers. but they do stress things like character, community service and interest.
