change in application

i submitted my ED application already (duh), but I recently found out that I placed first in a science competition in Biology. Since i wanna major in biology, do you think i should call them and let them know about this award, or is it not worth bothering them about?

thanks in advance.

Sure, if you already don't have any awards to back up the fact that you were involved in Bio club or whatever it is.

But I think, if not and you already have a plethora of awards, you don't need to call them since it's not like it'll be a huge factor that will push you over either side of the admissions fence.
Usually, they need updates if you become a leader of a club, get a change in immigration status, have a change in finances, etc.

But call them if you really want to, they're friendly people.

I'm pretty sure calling doesn't do anything. I think you need to fax them a letter sort of thing (making sure to include that ID number they emailed us with).
And I say go ahead, it can only help.
