Change in NYU's admission policy?

What the heck? Has NYU always required the SAT II's? Last time I checked they only said that it was "highly recommended." Now its a requirement? When did they change this? Did they even change it or did I just not read carefully the first time I checked?

Arg....now I gotta start studying for the SAT II's.....what the heck

Regardless, in my book "highly recommended" is practically equivalent to "required." (If you're expecting to be admitted)

yeah, they changed it for next year.
i agree with goyoungha though, 'highly recommended' means 'if you don't take them, your chances at getting in just went waay down-but you still have a tiny chance!'.

Here is the link that shows the new requirement for SAT IIs.

<a href="http://admissions.nyu.edu/applying_for_admission/index.php?page=standardized_tests&category=freshman%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.nyu.edu/applying_for_admission/index.php?page=standardized_tests&category=freshman</a></p>

I'm going to have to disagree that "highly recommended" is basically equal to "if you don't take them, your chances at getting in just went waay down-but you still have a tiny chance!" considering I didn't take any SATIIs, and I still got in with a nice merit scholarship along with the acceptance :P

bows to binary. Then you sir, are a god.

Yea i got in w/o sending my SAT IIs and i got 10K and into the Pres. Scholars Program

all these people getting in without taking the SAT II's..i might have to go find my college counselor and beat her over the head...

haha yeah i took them but i didnt do very well.

but yeah, theyve been planning on making it a requirement for awhile. i remember reading that last summer.
