When I applied using Apply Texas, I chose mathematics as my first choice major, and unspecified business as my second. I realized that unspecified business had to be my first choice major in order to even be considered for McCombs once it was too late, and was not able to flip my major choices. I got admitted as having mathematics as my major, and am planning on requesting to change my major once it is available starting April. My question, however, is this: What are my chances for being admitted into my major at McCombs this way, if any, or would I have to wait, and apply to transfer in after my first year?
Pretty low I think. McCombs is full and stats full. You’ll have to wait and see but I would say you better have a plan B. If people could get admitted to math and change to McCombs in April, there would be a lot of people going that route instead of applying to McCombs directly.
