So where are the emojis? (meaning the ones in the text reply box, not the ones on our keyboards)?
???
The corner smiley face to pick special
CC emojis has been an option llitetally for years before a few weeks ago, @CCadmin_Sorin.
@CCadmin_Sorin, I agree - that smiley face has been around and annoying me for a very long time.
@CCadmin_Sorin please let the tech team know that they have not restored the emojis. The little smiley face to access them in the dialogue box is GONE.
If there is a new way to access CC emojis, they should let people know.
However, if I was voting…I’d say…do NOT put it in the dialogue reply box.
Yes. I liked our CC emoji set a lot. But that corner smiley face wasn’t a good way to access them, too easy to poke by accident when all you wanted to do was edit your text in that spot.
@intparent. I thought that just happened to me. But I did like those emojies.
None of browsers on desktop has the emojis in upper right corner of reply box , just as typing this message, for quite some time now. Its location was kinda annoying but I like it too. Removing it all together is not a solution, but relocating it may make sense,
I like them because they are a bit of a gif, they move. Not static like the standard emoji set we have now.
All of the animated emoji were parses of plain text. The interesting thing is that while some plain text is still parsed as emoji—so the line below is a colon followed by a close-parenthesis, which resolves to a plain smiley:
This parses the way it used to, pretty much. However, what I used to call the “maniacal laughter” animated emoji doesn’t parse—it was a colon followed by two close-parentheses, which now resolves to a plain smiley (colon then close-parenthesis) followed by a close-parenthesis:
:))
Well, I"m late to this discussion, but I still don’t have access to any emojis – ie, the little face in the top right of the text box. And I want it, or a reasonable substitution, back.
Maybe it is due to your change of device.
@CCadmin_Sorin , what is the status on restoring the emojis in the reply box? Is the tech team even working on it or are we spinning our wheels here complaining?
The emojis are definitely gone from all my devices. desktop, iPad and phone. I noticed it a few weeks ago.
@BellaMorgan it’s not change of device. This has been established. It seems you “can” use your own emojies on your devices but not the ones that we had been using that were animated and more fun, I think.
I don’t think we ever heard back after the tech team claimed we hadn’t had those emojis for years and years (which we had).
I’m going to say that the animated emoji were fun, and I wouldn’t mind having them back, but not by restoring the dropdown in the corner of the textbox—it obscured what one had already written (making proofreading difficult at times) and was altogether too easy to click by accident when working on a mobile device.
While we are fixing stuff… Most forum you highlight a passage and hit “quote” and it does it for you. Much easier when using a mobile device… FYI.
^This has been requested repeatedly.
Here’s something I just discovered, to my chagrin, about the new editor: Making bulleted lists is broken.
I used to be able to use BBCode to make lists, but now it doesn’t work, so this happens:
[ul][]This should be a bulleted item
[]This should be another bulleted item
[*]This should be yet another bulleted item[/ul]
