Some people with monolids really make their eye make up work for them. Like Kim Yu-Na and the girl who writes the frmheadtotoe blog.

It shouldn’t matter what you think other people would prefer. I mean, do your eyes make you feel less confident or less attractive or anything like that? If they do, then I could understand why you would want to get surgery.

But when you said other people generally prefer larger eyes, I don’t understand exactly what you meant by that. It’s not like people will give you less opportunities in life just because you have monolids.

Personally, I don’t see what difference double eyelids do in making eyes bigger.

If you do want to do it though, like you end up deciding you really want to do it, don’t overdo it like Dawn Yang.

EDIT: I hear wearing false eyelashes makes it look like you have double eyelids!

go ahead. quench own vanity& satisfaction. @thumperr-
you have no idea how rampant plastic surgery is in s. korea.
you might find the op a bit weird, but in korea, it has almost become a must
to do a little “construction”, as the koreans call it, on their faces before college.
it’s kind of sickening, actually.

Oh yeah, I forgot about eyelid tape/glue. OP, have you tried that yet? Personally, I find that it doesn’t work…my mom says it’s because younger people have more elastic skin, so it’s less likely to work. HAHA.

Thank u for all your suggestions (: yep, I’ve tried eye glue/tape before, it works…a little haha. yea false eyelashes do create a double eyelid look lol.

Reason why I may choose to opt for surgery instead of e above or makeup is becoz I’m afraid those products might hv negative effects on my eyes/health on long term usage.(can u imagine glue near e eyes!) And ofcoz, I dun wanna spend so much energy and time on make-up.

@googler12 the surgery is kinda like ppl putting on braces for cosmetic purposes. Its painful, and complications might be inevitable. However, it’s also driven by a desire to look better. Why do ppl who have gone under the knife of a plastic surgeon receive worse public opinion than those who went under the knife of a dentist?

That said, I’m in no way encouraging ppl to get plastic surgery, esp not at a young age! In fact I’m still wavering.

I’m a bit upset that societal perceptions of beauty can pressurize me into feeling dissatisfied w myself. I hope tt eventually I will not cave in though (: hmm idk
