<p>Common App Essay Question So I submitted my common app essay to 2 schools and now I want to change my common app essay and topic.?</p>
<p>I don't know if common app will let me change my essay topic, and how the essay change will work since It clearly says you can change to fix spelling errors and grammar mistakes but can't resubmit the essay. Option 2: Can I create a new common app with a new ID and use that for the rest of colleges? I won't submit the new app to the schools I already submitted to, but will common app restrict me from doing this since I will have to use the same address and social security number that I used for my previous application. Also, what will teachers have to do in terms of submitting teacher recs...Can they just upload the same recommendation that they uploaded on my old common app and upload it to the new common app? This is really urgent and I want the new essay because it will be "different" and the schools that I am applying to really look into the essay-(ivy leagues)</p>

<p>You cannot create a new common app account – it is against their policy. You can however change your common app essay and submit a maximum of THREE versions. You have already submitted your first version so your new essay will be the second. Any change after that will be final and you will be locked from editing.</p>

When I emailed common app support service they said that common app may not pick up all content changes so I can’t even submit another essay…I can only fix grammar and spelling I guess</p>
<p>My daughter substantially changed her common app essay between school one and the rest of them. The revised essay appeared perfect on the PDF sent to the subsequent colleges (she and I both looked over each PDF before she hit final submit and paid the fee).</p>
<p>So do u think I should risk it and try to change the essay…my parents are being really picky about it and won’t let me do anything that’s why.</p>
