I already have sent in my applications to the UC system. I was hoping to receive some feedback either or not if I should change my major by calling the school, particularly UC Davis. I want to change from Biochemistry to Economics now so I would not have to go through the trouble of switching colleges while attending, but I wrote about Biochemistry in my personal statement as to why I want to attend the school. Should I attend the school then change? Are the GEs so different that the change will affect me? Or should I risk having a different major from what is on my personal statement?

The UC’s will let you change your major once you are accepted/enroll and attend orientation. I know at UC Davis, you are required to attend orientation based on your accepted College, regardless if you plan to change your major down the road.
