So for a while I knew I wanted to study something math related, but I wasn’t sure what. I was deciding between economics and mechanical engineering. I decided since I didn’t know, I would put down ME as my first choice major for the UCs except Berkeley and LA since those are hard. I would put economics as an alternate. I did this and submitted the application, but then learned Davis doesn’t look at alternate majors. I have shocked since their website says they do. Know I’m extremely worried cause engineering is very competitive. I theee any way to change my major o the application? How do I do it? I’m terrified cause Davis was considered my best Target school. HOW DO I CHANGE MY MAJOR AFTER I HAVE SUBMITTED THE APPLICATION??? Oh this is stressing me out so much.
I would contact UC Davis admissions directly and see if you are able to change your major. Some schools do allow you to change your application major but do have a deadline.

@Gumbymom Thanks, I called the UC Davis office of admission and explained my situation. They told me to call the UC General support number. I called the UC support information number and they told me to send an email to a certain address. They said that email would be included in my application. They said to explain the situation in the email, and that I selected the wrong major and I want to be considered for Economics. So on the admission officers at UC Davis would still see that I selected engineering, but they would see my email and know I wish to be considered for economics. Do you think this will work? Have you ever heard of this happening before? I’m still a bit concerned?
@Jason101200: If you used the UC email noted below, then UCD should get the updated major information.
