Is it easy to switch major from international studies to Applied math? I am currently a senior in high school, when can I possibly make such change, and how long would it take? Is there any specific requirements? Thank you for all your information and support.

Assuming you are admitted and the major is not impacted, it wouldn’t be harder than meeting the pre-reqs and applying for the major. If the major is impacted, then you will have to be admitted to the major after applying to enter.

So when is the earliest time for my major to change? Before my freshman year or after?

So assuming International Studies in the College of Letters and Sciences (I think it is), your New Student Adviser at orientation will be able to switch you to applied math. Note for applied math, you’ll be a pre-major. It isn’t a huge deal, but if you kind of speed through the lower division classes and want to take upper division classes “early,” it is sometimes hard to get the more popular ones, since you wouldn’t be able to enroll in them on the first go around. This isn’t something you’ll need to worry about until your 2nd year most likely, just thought I’d mention it. Good luck on admissions.
