Hello everyone! So, here’s the problem. I applied to Newhouse and Whitman and was very thankfully accepted to dual major. But, at the time I decided to apply, I wasn’t very sure about wanting to major in journalism but I figured it was my best shot. Well, after much thought, I still have the urge to try aerospace engineering, which I know is a major offered at SU. I know SU isn’t exactly known for it’s engineering program but I’m willing to give it a shot. How easy would you say it is to switch out of Newhouse as an incoming freshman? Any thoughts on the aerospace engineering program?
My D decided to change her major on her application literally days before the deadline. I quickly contacted the schools she had applied to regarding their protocol for this adjustment. Some flat out told me they did not allow it. Syracuse was very helpful and understanding about letting her switch out of Architecture and into Communication. I would immediately reach out to your Admissions person and seek guidance. If it can happen anywhere, I am hopeful it can happen at Syracuse.
