Syracuse University or UCSB...Help please!

Hello Everyone!
Well, I was recently accepted into Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University with a pretty good scholarship. I was also accepted to UCSB with a full scholarship so both schools are on the grab. The thing is, when I applied to these universities, I believed I wanted to major in journalism although I have always had an a strong interest in Environmental sciences or engineering. Well, I was granted an internship for journalism and I’ve realized that I don’t want to do that for the rest of my life, or at least as my major.; it’s more of a hobby for me. I’ve always wanted to work for NASA, even if it means hard work and I’m willing to do so. My parents seem extremely disappointed with the fact that I want to got to UCSB (apart from having a good science program and I really love the location and weather!). Can any of you share your experiences with me? Am I making a stupid mistake by choosing UCSB over Syracuse? Thank you

start by calling Syracuse and finding out if your scholarship is good if you change majors out of journalism.

Other than that, it comes down to a personal choice. Which school would you rather attend? Keep in mind, too, that it is difficult to change majors into engineering at a UC. You can look at the UCSB website and see the requirements to do so.

Thank you @mikemac for your advice! I will call Syracuse to find out more about the scholarship. It’s still a very difficult choice since I’m not entirely sure what I want to major in, but I’ll check out each school and their requirements
