Hello, I'm currently a first-year pre-business major, but I am looking to switch to Applied Mathematics for Economics as soon as possible. I'm not sure where to start, should I begin by talking to my current academic advisor, or the advisor of the major I wish to switch into? Also, I am currently in Math 4, which leads into Math22 Business Calculus, but major change criteria into mathematics requires Math 9a completion. Is it possible to take Math 9a from math 4? Or have I wasted half a quarter?

I would speak first to your current academic advisor whom will direct you the correct procedure to follow for your major change.
