<p>Does UCLA (or any of the UCs) allow one to change one's major before even starting school as a freshman? People are admitted to their majors (as I am to understand at this point) so can people change their major if they realize that they are uninterested in that particular field after they apply?</p>
<p>You can change majors during orientation, though there are some majors such as communications that you need an established UCLA GPA to get into.</p>
<p>For L&S it should be really simple since they admit you by school, not major, so technically if you applied to any of the other majors you would have gotten admitted. The only reason they would deny your major change is if the major is too impacted. For engineering, it’s hard since they admit you by major.</p>
