I know this has been discussed, but wanted to get some feedback. S has said he really had wanted a different school. That he thought his father and I wanted him to go to the school he chose, etc. Really not the case and I said it would be worth a call to the other school to see if they still had space. I know it’s pretty late and therefor seems unlikely, but just wondering how he might approach the school with this question. Just a direct do you still have room and would consider taking me? Also I’m concerned because I think they may not have the same scholarship offer.
Thoughts?
Call and ask…about both admissions and the scholarship offer.
Just be open minded…and remember…they admission spot and the scholarship might not be available anymore.
But then…they might be.
Nothing ventured…nothing gained.
No harm in calling to ask if the spot and fin aid are still available. Also, based on a previous thread, were you able to work out health insurance at the currently deposited school? Will that potentially be another issue that you need to figure out at the second school, should they offer a spot?
A student from D2’s class (Val of the class) had accepted Harvard, but decided UPenn was a better fit for her. She contacted UPenn and was offered a spot.
The health insurance would work out better. I think he will be contacting them tomorrow.
It is very possible it could work out. Definitely call & ask. Good luck & us know what happens.
