@veritasrmc if you don’t mind me asking, how did you get into film production in December? aren’t they just now sending out all of the decisions?

@Pstills, mine hasn’t switched yet either. hmmmmm

@wendydarrling You know, I’m not entirely sure how. I was following Chapman Admissions on Twitter back in December a few days before they were going to send out the EA acceptances. I asked them about Film Production and they said decisions were mid-January. Then I asked them if there was any chance of a Christmas surprise (early notification). They said no. Then on Dec. 20 I got the Chapman package in mail with an acceptance letter and it said that my major was Film Production. I called to ask about it and they said, “Very few Film Production acceptances were released early, Merry Christmas!”

It’s safe to say it was the best Christmas ever.

hey everyone! i’m new to this site but i applied for the film production as well. for those of you who said your decision is still pending, so is mine, should we be worried?

I wouldn’t be too worried. This is what their tumblr said 4 hours ago:

“They are still working on getting through all of the 750 applicants so its possible either WebAdvisor isnt up to date or theyre still reviewing files and yours is one of them. Decisions will start going out tomorrow, but there still will be a small percentage that will go out over the next week or so. Hopefully we can get most decisions out tomorrow, but we cant guarantee anything. By tomorrow we should be able to say what percentage of decisions have gone out.”

My Web Advisory now says “Fall Transcripts Requested” Guess I’m not hearing back this week. Oh well.

mine still says decision pending. i got an email from Chapman and was freaking out but turned out it was just a generic reminder that RD apps are due today. whyyyy

Same! Mine still says pending I check like every hour…lol

S14’s Web Advisor just changed to “Decision Reached”. Fingers crossed!

I am also at “Decision Reached” It sounds like emails are going to be sent to anyone rejected, waitlisted, or international acceptances. There is no email saying you got into Dodge.

All acceptances are sent through the mail and that is when you will know if you got into Dodge.

It was expected earlier today that the emails would come out around 3 or 4 but that has passed and they are looking into a new estimate. Hoping for the best for all of you!

S is still pending for film production! We’re in Massachusetts. This is torture!

Ah I got rejected. In a way I’m relieved because my parents really want me to do film production but I don’t want to as much as they think I do. Kind of disappointed I didn’t get in at all (it looked promising when applying).

That said I hope you all do and do great things!

How can I set up an account on Webadvisor? Looks like it is for current students only - who have a student ID #.

Pls help so I can check status of EA film school app.

ah i got rejected. disappointing but i have plenty more decisions to come in march.

PolySci22 you should have gotten a login an password right after you applied. It would have been sent in an email.

My daughter’s webadvisor still says decision pending, but she got a rejection email. :(

That’s sad news, Jellybronut. I really enjoyed your film. Chapman film production is obviously super competitive so they will be denying a lot of excellent candidates. Our S is still pending.

Polysci22, I think Chapman must have emailed you after you submitted your application with instructions on how to set up your account. Try to find that. If you don’t have it, contact the admissions office so they can help you.

Thanks mrssoffel, S just checked his email and he too got a rejection. S had been accepted to Emerson film production early action w/ dean’s scholarship so that helps blunt the sting of this major rejection. Now waiting to hear regular decision from NYU (he did a summer film program there and did very well). Stats: GPA 3.8 W in competitive Greater Boston area public high school, 2150 SAT, 32 ACT.

Congrats to all those who got in!

garlix-- To you son and all those rejected: My daughter did the Chapman Film Academy and did very well and had a great letter of recommendation from her teacher there. I would have to think the pool was very strong, so please don’t be too discouraged. My D was also accepted at Emerson, but with no scholarship. I better get busy with the Financial Aid application! She also applied to NYU RD, but it is a longshot. Her ACTs were good but she only took the SAT once and did not have great scores. She was scheduled to take the December SAT test but it was postponed until January 11 due to weather, so her scores are not in yet. I don’t know if that had any bearing on their decision. I’m surprised, but I guess, not surprised in a way.

Rejection e-mail here as well. Good luck to those still waiting.

We received the WebAdvisor login and password via regular mail. It was a green page with a lot of info on it and the login and password on the back.

Yes good luck to those waiting and congrats to those who got accepted. Sounds like a talented pool of kids.

garlix- I sent you a private message. :)

Has anyone tried to access the dorm application yet? I’m supposed to have an id but haven’t received one yet, though I got my acceptance right around Christmas…
