Chapman Class of 2018 EA

That’s what my school counselor told me, but I’m hoping sooner. Too much excitement to stand waiting.

My daughter’s status changed to Decision Reached as of 12/11 and she heard through the grapevine that letters should be received next week. We checked her Program Evaluation link on webadvisor and it showed the program she applied to - Integrated Educational Studies. Good luck to everyone! Such an exciting time.

Exciting times, indeed, curiousinseattle! Curious thing is that my S’s program evaluation has disappeared - that is, nothing shows when I hit submit, whereas before it showed his whole program’s requirements.

Is anyone’s decision still pending?

Lleanaxo- mine is, I think they’re changing based on major, just a hunch.

Son’s changed to Decision Reached today. I see a link to his program - so is it the CC consensus that it indicates admit?

My S is still at decision pending. Seattle_mom, I wish the link means good news, but I seriously can’t tell as searching old threads showed at least one applicant that had it show but didn’t get accepted.

Bigmamabear - We didn’t do anything on the Program Eval link, as we’re waiting for instruction on how to proceed. All we know, previously when we looked in Program Eval, there was no program assigned. After Decision Reached status, the program was listed. This is my first experience with Chapman so I’m not sure what to expect. Personally, I would think strong apps going to Decision Reached would give good indication of acceptance. If they saw it as not as obvious accept, they would roll to regular decision. They kind of inferred that at the reception. Now if the app was truly out of line with their school, perhaps that is when admission will be denied. At the info session they stressed they wanted to find the student who will fit in.

On twitter they wrote if your decision still says “pending” on Tuesday, then you should contact your admission counselor.

Eliserubi - thanks for the heads up! I just checked Twitter too and you are so right - by Tuesday of next week everyone’s decision should have changed. The Admissions office Twitter account is
@ChapmanAdmit

Roll to regular Decision basically means differed right?

curiousinseattle- my status has yet to change and my program is assigned.

Alexmamoga - yes, roll to regular decision would mean being deferred to the regular decision pool. I have seen many applicants in past threads who were rolled to regular decision and then accepted. So it’s not altogether a bad thing.

Hi Alexmoga last year my daughter applied for EA and was deferred. She was accepted to Dodge in March and loves it. As a parent I have all good things to say about the school. My daughter came home today and has told me all about the opportunities she has had her first semester as a freshman. I’d say hang in there go to all the events if you are local it seems they love enthusiastic students who are serious about attending Chapman. Good luck!

Someone’s still working in the Admissions Office this late on a Saturday - my S’s status just changed to “decision reached”!

LOL - I bet they go pretty close to 24/7 these last few days!

Does anyone know when the BFA Film Production major will be announced? I know it is supposed to be later, but I am not sure when to expect a notification.

pantherss - this is from Chapman Admissions Twitter:
In response to the question:
“do film applicants get there admission decision sent out on the 20th with the rest of early action applicants??”
@ChapmanAdmit responded: “all film applicants except film production, which come out late January.”

are most students who do not get accepted to early action deferred to regular decision??

so for film production, our statuses aren’t supposed to change until january-ish? mine still says pending.
