Chapman Class of 2018 EA

wendydarrling - yes, that’s the reported timeframe for film production.

Jpendergast - that would be the assumption I would make too. Unless an applicant is a clear non-fit for Chapman, I would guess most EA applicants would be accepted or rolled to regular decision.

My decision finally reached yesterday!

Lleanaxo - yay! GertrudeMcFuzz is right - the Admissions staff is probably working 24/7 these last few days. Looks like a mass mailing goes out on Dec 20. Now, on to checking the physical mailbox! :)

My webadvisor says “Fall Term Grades Requested”. Does this mean I am deferred or something similar to deferred? Why do they do this? And do I need to send them in or does my school do it?

Mine does as well, I called the office apparently you send in your fall grades as soon as complete and they will either accept you or officially defer you, it is my understanding that it is the limbo in between acceptance and being defered. As to the process of doing so, I still am unsure but am meeting with my guidance counselor tomorrow morning and would be happy to share what she says.

I haven’t been able to logon to a webadvisor account to check my Chapman application ever!! I don’t remember ever seeing anything that gave me a password or user name and I don’t see an option to create a new account. Is there something I’m missing?

Never mind! I found my letter with the login

666child, Chapman sends a sheet of info via snail mail when they receive an application. At this point call the admissions office for information on how to get a webadvisor account.

My WeAdvisor just changed from pending to reached yesterday, but I applied to Film Production, and I thought Film Production prospectives weren’t supposed to hear until mid-January?? Is this a bad sign? Like, “No, we definitely don’t want her?”

Anybody have a clue?

Just read on the chapman admission tumblr that the acceptance rate for early action this year is 40%

Thank you for that update, Lleanaxo. First it was twitter, and now I have to go on tumblr as well, to keep up with the Admissions office… they are seriously good at using social media to keep applicants informed and answer questions. Kudos to the Admissions Office!

Chapman’s tumblr has a picture of the staff with all the decision letters in bins ready to mail today, so locals could hear tomorrow! Good Luck to everyone!!!

Emails have been sent to some (all?) who were rejected…

Anyone get an email?

We got deferred

It must be unnerving to get an email from the Admissions office. However, I think they did the right thing to email the rejections - it would be cruel to watch and wait for the mail only to get a rejection, especially THIS close to Christmas. That’s like getting a lump of coal.

Here we go - good luck everyone! I’m eager to hear everyone’s results over the next few days - please post!

No email. Still waiting in Ohio. Son visited Chapman, Loyola, USC and UCLA last week. Said the studios at Dodge were very impressive.

MovieScriptMom, best wishes to your son! I have a D currently in Dodge and if anyone is a film type of student, he/she will be in seventh heaven at Chapman - they hit the ground running and there is no shortage of exciting things to do - make movies, be on set/crew/cast, direct, produce, edit, do internships, have dinner with industry big names, attend all kinds of events, travel to make documentaries, network network network. They have one foot in the real world and the other on campus.

Thank you Bigmamabear. Wow! Good to hear that USC isn’t the only school with connections. My S had a great, 20 min conversation with Prof. Gardner, Dir. of TV last Friday. Admissions told me last Thurs that decisions had been made. My S just read your post. He’s stoked.
