Hey everyone!

With Early Action decisions for Chapman coming out within the month, I thought we could use this thread to discuss thoughts, questions, and concerns! Good luck! :)

When should we start expecting decisions? Next week?

@mullaneyj6 yeah, I’ve heard that it’s been around December 20th in the past few years

It’s too bad they don’t post the admissions decisions online

I know, it’s a pain to wait for the letter in the mail! Also, I’ve heard that letters should be coming on December 20th. Not sure if that’s true but that’s what I’ve been hearing.

I heard film production doesn’t come till Feb 2nd

Chapman’s tumblr answers tons of questions regarding admissions. It looks like they are putting acceptance letters in the mail on Friday (Dec. 19) and deferrals/rejections will be receiving emails on Friday or Monday.

Hey, guys! Does everyone’s application status read “Pending Decision”, or are some people seeing “Decision Reached”? I myself am seeing only “Pending Decision”, just wondering about what you guys are seeing!

Chapman admissions facebook updated with pic of bins of acceptances leaving office today.

Status changed to “Decision Reached” on portal

Status says Decision reached.
Haven’t got anything.
Should I be worried?

You should not be worried. Last year, they e-mailed the rejections and snail mailed the acceptances.

they’re doing the same thing this year. acceptances were mailed out today and should be arriving soon good luck to everyone!

It’s a LOT different this year. Denials and deferreds were all sent emails yesterday, same day as acceptance letters. They do caution that if they do not have a working email for you, then you may still get denied or deferred via snail mail. Daughter deferred. :(

Yeah I believe they’ve changed things up a bit this year. I was expecting to either get a denial/deferral in an email or an acceptance in the mail. But I just received an acceptance email this morning at 11:00am. It was brief and just said congrats and told me to keep my eye out for an official acceptance letter in the mail.

I guess they can’t please everyone, and apologize for complaining about getting in (not meaning to be insensitive to those that don’t) but I like my S to have the “mailbox” experience or something more than an email pic of the staff. These simple little acceptance emails are a bit disappointing even when getting in. A couple years ago, Cal Poly had this amazing acceptance video that conveyed a lot of emotion - excitement mainly - to be going there. These emails seem to take the pop out of it… it’s not just Chapman, it’s a lot of them. But I guess it makes it faster which is good for a lot of people.

My portal says decision reached

I’m expecting a rejection since my stats are way below the average accepted. I also was rejected from LMU, and they are both pretty similar in acceptance rates. They never reached out to me other than portal information.

Has anyone heard anything on there status? (accepted, deferred, or rejected)

I got deferred and was sent an email last night (December 19th). How likely are you to get into chapman if you are deferred? I know its different for every school

@bostonapplicant7 Accepted email received at 8:01am pst Saturday morning (Dec 20) as predicted. In Norcal, S did not get packet in mail today, would expect it Monday then.
