I’m pretty sure if you didn’t get an email, it’s a rejection. Hopefully I am wrong. I applied for tv production and writing.

Got an email on friday (December 19), deferred. I’m wondering what I did wrong. I got a 32 on my ACT, 3.9 GPA, many AP’s and pretty good essays. I applied to Dodge so I’m thinking maybe it was because my art supplement was not good enough. I also applied the last day possible for EA, if that means anything. I’m just really nervous because I considered Chapman to be one of my easier schools and now I feel like I won’t even get in…

What is your major, sjr414? That probably has a bearing as well. My D was deferred as well. I think reaching out to the admissions counselor is probably a good idea. Find out why, and show them you’re really interested.

Daughter accepted with a Presidential Scholarship!!!

Two grandparents taught at Chapman, aunt got her masters degree there.

We are delighted :)

Bigmamabear, my major is Public Relations. I want to reach out and ask why I was deferred, but I’m sure so many do and I don’t want to be bothersome. I’m very curious though.

sjr414, I would encourage you to reach out and email them. it doesn’t hurt and it’s a good idea to have your name keep popping up so that they remember you when reviewing applications.

personally, the wait til feb. 1st for film production majors is killing me. chapman is my top top top choice and it’s driving me crazy not knowing.

sjr414, call Chapman and ask. I know someone who was deferred a a year ago, and when she called, the Chapman admissions person was really good about telling her where she was weak.

I do have a smidgen of insight for you, though. Are you female? The PR major at Chapman is currently mostly females.

Yeah, I got deferred. I’ve attended a Chapman Service project, went to a Chapman reception + took a tour/interview. Should I email my admissions counselor asking why? (I’m pretty sure it’s my grades) I don’t want to be too pushy/forward/annoying.
What do you guys know about the Honors Program at Chapman? Worth it? I’m a biology major.
@sjr414 Definitely reach out and ask. Email the admissions counselor that is listed on your application page. If his/her email address is not there, you can easily find it on the Chapman website under Admissions (counselors). Talk to your HS counselor as well to see if he/she can help in any way.
@LongRangePlan No wonder my son is thoroughly enjoying being a PR major!
@wiifixp I would encourage you to contact your admissions counselor if this is your top choice school.
Anybody a Film Production major applicant? Heard anything today?
Nothing yet… haven’t checked mail yet tho
Son was accepted early
Gpa- 3.6
ACT - 26
However I think he will be giving his spot up.
I am going to create a thread for regular decision students
DentalDad- was curious why your Son decided against Chapman?
xMom…he likes the school but we are concerned about the price of the school and whether that price is justified in the end.
We have the same concerns ! My son did get some merit aid= so that helps. We were very impressed with Dodge College and the faculty however. It is such a hard decision…
when do decisions come out??
