Chapman is my first choice school! Do you guys think I'll get in?

I think Chapman is a match school for me but because I want to go there so badly I always question if I'll actually get it! If that makes sense? Haha. I figure that maybe we could all share our stats too and chance each other for Chapman? Sorry, I know these chance threads are annoying but I'd love to hear from you guys.

I also come from a community where very many families fall below the poverty line, with about 75% of the students at my school qualifiying for free/reduced lunch (Idk if this makes a difference)

Oh, and I’m applying as an English major, if that makes a difference.

Wow! I definitely think you will get in! I applied too, so I hope to see you next year :)

Chapman’s my first choice, too, and I definitely think you’ll get in with those stats. :)

Awesome! Thanks guys  I hope to see you guys there, too! Did either of you apply early for the film school?

Yep, I did! I applied as a broadcast journalism major though. When do you think we should know by? I check my mailbox every day! Haha

I saw somewhere that EA people hear back Jan 15th.
I applied Regular Decision (due Jan 15th, but I applied Dec 20) and I’m not supposed to hear back until March. It’s so long to wait!
Have you guys visited campus before? I’m going for my first time in February  I’m taking a trip to check out the schools I applied to down south.

I applied EA to the Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences for a BFA in Creative Writing. I really hope I get in!

I toured Dodge last week but there weren’t tours of Chapman that week, so I just walked around and talked to people. I toured LMU and USC too. The tour guy said they were already making decisions but they probably wouldn’t get them out to any students much before Feb.

@anna you look like you would get in, especially since it’s for English. Dodge would be based on the supplemental materials so your stats wouldn’t be the deciding factor.

I’ve been to Chapman many times and the campus is absolutely beautiful! I would say that the campus and surrounding city is one of the schools best assets. :)

Ive been to Chapman a few times because my friend’s a soph there. It’s nice but totally nothing special looking and very small so it doesn’t feel much like a college campus. it’s in the middle of Old Orange, this little town filled with tiny cottagelike houses and antiques stores. It’s cute, but for people that think it’s LA, it’s totally not. It’s about 1 hour from LA or worse with the traffic. Some of my friends applied there, but I decided not to because I wanted film and think it makes more sense to be in LA or NYC.

I scheduled an interview for Chapman during my stay and I’m a tad nervous, but mostly I’m just excited to interact with a Chapman student! When I scheduled my interview it said that it gives students a much more personalized application process and something like you get to stay in contact with your interviewer if you ever have any questions - which I think it super cool.
Orange County seems like a really cool place to be. I’m an English major but I want to be a music journalist and the Southern California music scene is very appealing.

Oh don’t be nervous at all! I had an interview back in October and it was so easy. The interviewers are really nice and personable. Good luck!:)
