Anyone know when it will be posted? Chapman.com says July 1st, but its still not there.
What about the Dodge College supplemental as well?

What’s a “supplemental”? I’m sure it’s important but don’t know what for!

It’s for the application - the extra essays you have to turn in for Chapman and for the film school.

You are looking on the Common App right? The application on Chapman’s website is now defunct. But if you are indeed on the Common App website and it’s not there, I have no idea when it will be.

Thanks so much, E.t.g., from my name you can tell it’s not relevant for our household anymore!

Yep, mine as well haha

e.t.g. – hope you and The Kid Who’s In At Dodge get to know each other. I think you’d get on. Said Kid, of course, would kill me if it were discovered I had posted this! (Ah, parents, too, can have fun in the anonymity of cyberspace.)

ahaha. Thanks! I might have already added him on Facebook if he has an account. A lot of film production kids have joined groups together and gotten to know each other. If he hasn’t yet, you should encourage him to. It’s really settled my nerves about being a new kid, because I already have about 40 “friends” that I have yet to meet…and don’t worry, if he hasn’t yet, soon your Kid In Dodge will be able to accept his hip parents ;)

Yeah, you guys are gonna get on.

LittleGreenMom and I figured out that our sons were in a class together last year, but we both knew if we said anything that remotely suggested they meet, they would be horrified. They may be best buds for all we know. :)

haha if we found out I shared classes with someone, I would SO creep up behind them and go, “I KNOW YOUR MOTHERR”
but then, no one would talk to me…haha.
On the topic of meeting people, I went to the welcome reception for DFW tonight and had a great time seeing people nervous and excited as myself, and I’ve already been to Six Flags and to see Harry Potter with a girl who is also in Film Production next year. It feels great to not be going into this orientation business cold.

Sort of related, last year as a freshman, I worked at the Panther Line. You call alumni and parents to update info, chat, and ask for donations for the scholarship fund. It’s a good job if you’re looking for work on campus btw, also they hire non-work study students (most don’t) so I def recommend. (Also, if you get a phone call from a student, please be NICE to them). Anyways, I would call a lot of parents of current students, mostly parents of freshman students, so every once in a while I’d see someone on campus and be like “I talked to your mom last night” and it’s pretty much a great way to start a conversation haha.

Aw, are people not nice? Obviously some people have never held jobs in their lives…

how many essays/short answer questions are in the supplement of chapman? and if you know, what were some examples of the questions in the years before?

yeah I was wondering that as well
just fyi also, the dodge college supplement for this year is now up
still waiting on the regular chapman one though

If this past year was any indication, they run BEHIND on their own schedules. I don’t know if this is a systems transition issue, or something which occurs each year, but many many deadlines seem to have been intentions instead. Just keep checking and be as relaxed as you can.

It said the supplement would be up in late august…
Now its September.
"However Part-II will not be available to complete and submit until September. "
Guess they ran behind their schedul again

Socal,

It still is late August…give it a few more days. Isn’t today the 27th?

Supplement is up

for anyone who is in the process of completing the supplement, i have a question.
on the section “Education Information” about academic record, it is not under the essay section, but im confused whether or not it is an essay.
