Shoooot, moniso, I’d say getting into USC kinda makes up for any decision you get from Chapman! Congrats! :D

Moniso congrats. How did they notify you?

And yes getting into USC is great but it does have it’s drawbacks. What are you majoring in? If it’s film definitely good, only problem is you don’t even own your own work.

yeah! I knooow!!! actually it is film production… I’ve got into USC, NYU, UT Austin and BU … BUT CHAPMAN CHANGES EVERYTHING !!!

right now I’m sure about USC, but if I am lucky enough to get into Chapman I would have some serious thinking to do… I had always considered that either USC or Chapman are my top choices… NYU sounds tempting because of the city… but still I know that the opportunities at Cali fit me best…

I just need an answer. Where should I beg?

@moniso if I got accepted at Chapman I would go in a heartbeat since its smaller and give you ample room to express your views on your material plus you get to own your own work its up to you.

@ bayfilm and moniso Plus I hope both of you get off lucky with an acceptance since dodge didn’t even consider me for my second major and rejected me flat out without asking for my writing sample for my second major choice (creative producing). Wish you the best of luck

I know you are right ulima! =) it’s just that there is something about the trojan spirit that amazes me… but I know that getting into Chapman would mean great opportunity for me in the future… both schools are great, but Chapman is definitely working on to be better than USC… all the equipment, the new producer, everything … oooh!!! who am I kidding I want to attend Chapman and it is the only one missing… :(

@moniso then you know what you need to do but if you get rejected then go to SC. For me I’m going to SC and take all the non major classes at sca which are a lot get my minor in cinematic arts and screenwriting then apply at Chapman’s graduate film program with a good portfolio. The school counselor at Chapman told me its far easier to get into their film school as a graduate. There’s a lot routes you could take. But I hope you do get in at Chapman as an undergrad.

Wait but how did USC notify you moniso?

they send me the traditional package, but via DHL because I’m an international student… do you know if Chapman does something like that as well (using DHL or UPS)…??? it felt pretty good to actually receive something not only emails…

status will usually change online before you receive anything. i think i remember hearing i was rejected last year early june.

@moniso I’m an international student and I got accepted. I just got an email from FedEx regarding the tracking number and such. :)

That’s so cool !!! Well if they are still sending acceptances I still have hope

Bayfilm I remember watching your portfolio… If they reject you this time, then I have nooo hope !!! You’ll see your receive your acceptance soon :)

if you guys dont mind me asking, how many years did you guys stay at community college to transfer to chapman, also with how many units you have? thank you!

In about two weeks, which is when my semester ends, it will have been two years spent at my community college, and I will have a total of 50 units. It’s been hard getting classes where I am, so hopefully I get into Chapman :/

Did anyone here apply for screenwriting? And If so, did you hear back from Chapman as to your status? Mine was mailed and I haven’t received it yet but I’m eagerly awaiting.

I heard from them a while back and flatly rejected me without considering me for my second major choice. I applied for screenwriting. There is a way to check if you got in. Check your financial aid. If you got an award then your in, but if not, you got rejected. That’s how I found out a few days before I received my rejection letter.

I’ve been at Community college for two years. Just finished yesterday. I completed 62 units. 3.5 gpa average

I heard from them back in early May - so excited! Is anyone else going to be a Poli Sci major?

To those who haven’t heard back yet, as far as I know they still have some applications to go through! You still have a chance. And they will always send an official rejection if you didn’t get in, so no news is not bad news. (:

Aherosxtrial did you ever receive your letter? I applied for screenwriting also, and mine still says decision pending.

I can’t believe it !!! still no news!!! :(

@moniso its horrible from Chapman at this stage of not notifying you guys and sparing you this wait. I’ll only say they should change app datelines for transfer students so it becomes an equal field between the freshmen and transfers. Because from what I’m seeing its going to be another wide rejection just because of the lack of spots.
