My daughter got in for Business. After I saw your post, I asked my daughter to check if she sees any attachment. She confirmed that she got the Merit scholarship :))

Thank you

Accepted cinema and media studies!
Deans scholarship
OOS
1460 SAT
3.8 GPA

What are the different scholarship amounts? What is the Provost amount ? Deanā€™s amount?, etc. Also do amounts increase commensurate with tuition increases every year? What seems like a lot can turn into a pittance when tuition increases and the scholarships stay put, unfortunately. Wish I didnā€™t have experience with this, but I do at another school.

Iā€™m not sure on the exact amount for each, but here are the 4 merit scholarships ranked from highest to lowest.

Presidential Scholarship (highest, 36k per year)
Chancellors Scholarship
Deans Scholarship
Hesperian Scholarship

Provost Scholarship is $28,000 per year

What qualifies for Presidential?

Iā€™m not sure what the exact qualifications are, but I was lucky enough to be awarded it and these are my stats:

106.097 GPA weighted on 100 scale, translates to 4.0 UW
Class Rank 1/550
1450 SAT
Some state awards for documentary production
Scholar at a prestigious state summer program, one for natural sciences, one for leadership
State recognized athlete- 3 sports
Founded my own non-profit organization
Club volleyball team that competes nationally
Foreign language tutor for students abroad
Caucasian Female, Public high school in urban neighborhood

in for film production! soooo excited

Has anyone heard of any acting decisions going out?

Congratulations!

Curious to hear insight on starting fall as undecided? Communication from the school is very encouraging to start off exploratory but Iā€™m hearing a lot of challenges from current students whoā€™ve gone that route. Thanks

Would you share your stats and awards/ECs for film that helped with your acceptance?

Will you likely accept or are you still considering other (top) film programs?

I have a film student, and I am curious.

Hi! When I applied I had about a 3.9 gpa, applied test optional. I have a decent film background, but Iā€™ve seen other applicants with stronger stats and film credentials than me be acceptedā€¦ and denied. I am hoping the decision process has to do with fit because I feel a fit with Chapman! I researched Dodge a TON and it is definitely at the TOP of my list. I havenā€™t heard from a few other top film schools yet, but scholarships/cost will probably be the deciding factor since I have to pay my own way. Hope this helps. I pray your son/daughter gets the answer they want! Best of luck to you!

Thank you very much. My student was waitlisted at Chapman, and I was curious.

I am so excited for you. It is a great program! I assume this means you will attend Chapman and pass on the other acceptances (I am sure you will receive)?

Oh. I see you are evaluating aid. I heard Chapman does offer a lot of merit aid to some students. I hope they offer you something.
