i got chappy for my dorm room...sharing with another girl... so i know its a hall-type room not a suite type, so can someone explain the bathroom deal?

Hey Sockherplayer, my daughter also got a double at Chappy! She is very excited! Last year she had friends staying at Chappy who showed us around. The bathroom was a community bathroom in the middle, where the halls meet. It seemed pretty private with curtains in front of the shower/dressing areas. It should be OK. Have you met your roommate via e-mail yet? My dau. has been corresponding with her new roommate and she seems nice so far. Anyway, best wishes for a fantastic year as a SDSU Aztec! I know you will make lots of friends and get an excellent education there!

Oh wow that's cool...so once you fill out the roomate application you then get a roomate and what contact info do you get about them? Does it tell you everything they filled out along with their email or w/e?

Hopefully the roomate application will pear me up with someone that is similar to myself...

bump......

Hey Mike, My daughter is in Chappy and LOVES it!! She is having a wonderful time making new friends and getting to know the beautiful San Diego area! Her roommate info was on the housing site late august when she found out her dorm. They only give the name and e-mail of your roommate if your roommate agrees to release that info. No other details are given.

That's awesome!! I just hope I get into SDSU. My weighted GPA is a 4.4 and my unweighted is a 3.7, but I only scored a 1080 on the math/reading section of a practice SAT. I even have an SAT tutor so hopefully I can get higher...I just want to get in even though I'm out-of-state.

I know an essay is not recquired, but do you think I should write one?

With your GPA, you should also consider applying at the uc's. I don't think sdsu would consider an essay, but you could always call admissions and ask them. Good luck!!

Do you think so? I guess I'll send an application there just to see if I can get in... =)

I will probably call SDSU admissions, but when I went down there this summer they seemed to not want one. Fine with me...

I'm just hoping that I can get into SDSU. I know their standards are getting tougher.

How is your daughter liking SDSU? What's her favorite part?

Mike, what grade are you in and when will you apply for college? Just keep up your GPA and work on those SAT scores and you will probably be in good shape. I don't know what the criteria are for out-of-state students, but Best Wishes to you!!

My daughter is enjoying life in the dorms and seems to be balancing fun with studying so far. She loves going to the beach and into town and she has fallen in love with San Diego. She also likes the school spirit on campus...GO AZTECS!

I'm a senior. I'm going to send my application in once I take the SAT (I'm taking it this Saturday).

Also, don't you have to send in a housing application at the same time you send in the school application? I probably need to get SDSU to send me one....

Hi Mike, good luck on your SAT!

For info about how to apply for housing, go to the SDSU housing site: http://www.sa.sdsu.edu/housing/howtoapply.html.

Basically, once you apply to SDSU, they will give you a Red ID#. Then you go to the housing website and request a license agreement (Do this as soon as you get your Red ID#).

In May, if you are accepted to the university, your license agreement will be available online. You need to download it, fill it out and send it in with a deposit. (Do this immediately because they choose your housing based on when they receive your deposit in their office with the agreement.)

At the same time, you should log on to the housing site and select your living choices...what dorm you want, what kind of music you listen to, if you are neat or sloppy, if you stay up late or not, etc.

Hope that helps...Good luck!!

Alright,

I just got back my SAT scores. They are:
Critical Reading- 550
Math- 570
Writing- 620
Multiple Choice- 59
Essay- 10

So, what would my total score be out of 2400? I'm dissapointed in my Math because in a previous practice SAT w/my tutor, I got a 610. That ****es me off lol Anyway, would this (with my GPA) be good enough for SDSU? :)

Mike, I think you add your math, writing, and critical reading scores. For example if you got 800 on each then you would have a 2400. I have no idea what the new SAT scores mean. You can take them up to 3 times and the colleges will only use your highest scores in each subject. The latest test you can take for college admissions is in December, so I think you have 2 more chances unless you are going to take the SATII's.

College admission is so crazy. It is hard to tell why some people get in and others don't. I hope you get into SDSU! Best of luck.

No, I can't. You have to send all applications in to SDSU by November 30th. haha It's okay, though...I'm not too worried.

Mike, I know the UC's accept scores from the December tests even though applications are due on 11/30. If you are interested in retaking the test, contact admissions and see if it will count.

Okay I'm stuck on the application - to configure your high school GPA on page 7, I have a question. In 10th grade English 2, I got both an A in both the fall and spring semester. Is that just a 4, or do I get two 4's?

I'm also a little dissapointed that SDSU did not have a box or something where you could fill out a little "about me."
