Charles Scholarship--A Scholarship for Latinos in Chicago

Hey y'all,

My name is Juan and I am a student from Davidson College. I would like to share the following information for all Latino students in Chicago.

"A new scholarship funded by trustee John McCartney ’74 and his spouse, Clare Muñana, will provide Chicago public high school students with an opportunity to attend Davidson, and raise awareness about the college among high-achieving minority students in the Windy City.

The Charles Scholarship, created by the couple in honor of their fathers, provides full funding for one/three minority students per year with demonstrated financial need and a strong record of leadership."

We are looking for current rising seniors. If interested to know about more, please don't hesitate to ask!

JR

La Raza.

Lovely to see that.

La Raza? The race? What?

oathkeeper

that is a slang expression which i learned when i lived in southern California. whenever, supposedly, someone is assisting their fellow Hispanics-folks over in so cal say la raza representar. i was just being a bit silly. i mean no disrespect to you.

Ooo... sorry I am not acquainted with the phrase... thanks for clarifying!

Oathkeeper,

I am Colombian, so I did not know what that expression was or anything. I learned it when I used to live in so cal. And, it is a positive expression.
