I’m trying to purchase a MacBook Pro 13in 256GB laptop. Where is the best place to buy in online in terms of price and other promotions?
For example, I know apple has 100 off with educational pricing, but do you think they would also have the gift card thing going again?
What about the current College Best Buy deals, how much are those?
Also for your average college student, is there any reason to increase the memory from 8GB to 16GB? I don’t think I will be running anything fancy?
If you are near one, I would try Microcenter to see what they say - They are my ‘go to’ place in terms of computer advice because of all of the professionals that work there. I’ve built probably a dozen home computers using their advice and strategies and they carry Macs as well…http://www.microcenter.com.
Check that your school doesn’t have a special deal that’s better than broad educational prices.
I would second the idea to check Microcenter, they always have some pretty great deals. Best Buy also has a $100 off student deal going on right now. Also, make sure to check the costs at your college’s bookstore (if you can’t find it online, call and ask, almost every college has a deal).
As for upgrading memory, I wouldn’t bother with that. If you ever need extra storage you can buy a flash drive. I would also recommend storing your files on Google Drive - that way you use less memory on your computer, and it’s an easy way to make sure your information is backed up.
