I personally know of many, many Stern kids who cheated. Quite shamelessly, for that matter.

Sure. My girlfriend (who was at Stern) cheated on me all the time. Firewalker hit the nail on the head too. She did it pretty shamelessly.

It's probably because of the nasty bell curves they have there though. Competition can bring out the worst in people.

It's not cheating, it's efficiently collecting and applying resources.

Last year the FT came out with some article about how MBAs were the biggest cheaters in school (more than half). The next issue had a response in the opinion section just about the risks and rewards of cheating and how biz students are more apt at realizing this.

Also as mentioned the tough curve makes the reward for cheating bigger. The article also mentioned how engineering students and science students weren't far behind in the rankings.

*boisterous laugh

Everybody cheats in one way or another.

I am in Stern, I have never cheated nor would I think about doing it. The school isn't that hard, and the curve really isn't bad.

MBAs are the second most frequent cheaters, after engineering school kids. There's some truth to that.

How could they do it without getting caught, though? aren't there usually TA's in the room trying to catch people in the act?
