Checking sent scores

Is there a way to check on MyMIT whether they received my scores? What happens to my application if they don’t receive them in time?

Yes! Once you have completed your Part 1, there should be a checklist that will tell you if your scores have been received.

Scores are generally sent electronically. They don’t get lost in the mail anymore. We did have a school that couldn’t find the ACT score. An email to ACT to get the batch number to give to the school and they had the info they needed to find it.

As long as you submitted your application and scores on time, the bits and pieces not being collected into your file by the due date will not be held against you.

@AroundHere So as long as I send everything before November 1 am I good?

You should be, but if your tests are taken I wouldn’t wait until the last minute to send scores. But maybe that’s just me wanting to get stuff checked off the list and done.

@AroundHere I sent both my September ACT scores and October SAT scores after seeing them, so would that be fine?

Seems fine to me. I’m not sure why you’re worried?

If the admissions office finds that anything is missing from your application they will let you know. Anything received late that is beyond your control they will not penalize you for. If there is anything missing expect to hear from MIT a few weeks after the deadline. If you don’t hear from them you can assume that they received a completed application with all the requirements fulfilled.

Test scores can come in late a little late without you being penalized. Since MIT excepts November SAT scores for their EA deadline, those score will obviously come in after Nov 1. The SAT is not given until Nov 4th this year.

Ignore the checklist. It isn’t always accurate.
