Cheerleading Recruitment to the Ivies/Hopkins

Alright, so my girlfriend's a flyer for our HS team; she's a junior this year and has decent enough stats (UW 3.85, SAT her practices are going > 2100, 13-15 AP classes by the end of senior year, nice leadership and founder of a philosophy club), but is wondering if top schools recruit for cheerleading. She's done 5 seasons so far (fall and winter), and her team's placed in states (3rd this year, probably better last few years, seeded 2nd for this winter's season), won numerous invitationals, done well at counties, regionals, etc. She's a flyer, so that should give her an edge, but that's only if they recruit cheerleaders.

So,
1. Do top tiered schools (specifically: Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Vandy, all Ivies, some other schools) recruit cheerleaders like they look for other athletes?
2. If yes, what should she do? Should she email the coaches? What should she say in the emails?
3. What could she best do to prepare for admissions to these schools (sports related, in academia she's working hard and is preparing herself accordingly)

Edit: She doesn't know much about CC, and I told her I'd do some research for her if I had any free time. Unable to find much about cheerleading recruitment, I decided to post a thread here (cause I love CC) asking around a bit. If you guys need any more specifics, I'd be happy to give them :)

Not sure about recruitment, it may vary by school. It should be obvious from their website if they take the cheerleading program seriously.

Yes, email the coaches, and point blank ask. She sounds like her stats are very good, so she might be a shoe-in with or without cheerleading.

The sport of “Stunt” is trying to become an “Emerging Sport” by the NCAA:

Remember that if they aren’t regulated by the NCAA, there may be benefits to that as well. It would essentially be a club sport (a quick look showed that several Ivies have coed cheerleading teams and go to competitions.

Search on the CC board for Ivy League cheerleading to find previous threads.

Thank you for that advice! I looked at the threads and got some information from them!
