Chem 104 and Math 220 over summer

How hard are chem 104 and math 220 over the summer? Only Hummell will be teaching 104. Are they much harder than during the school year? I'm assuming the classes would be easier to take at a community college but I'm scared I'll be screwed for orgo if I take 104 at a community college.

Also, does anyone know how the quality of chem classes at community colleges (specifically, moraine valley) compare to the chem classes at u of i? Do they prepare students for later U of I chemistry classes well?

I took MATH 220 with Bob Murphy last semester. It wasn’t the easiest class, but it was definitely doable. There are 12-12 quizzes each worth 10 points and he takes the highest 10 scores. Each midterm (there’s 3 of them) are worth 100 points and the final is worth 150 points. The first midterm is all limits, 2nd is derivatives, and the 3rd midterm is integrals. I had no experience in calculus and got a B in the class. Could have done better but oh well.
I’m currently in CHEM 104 with Christian Ray. I would NOT take CHEM 104 with Hummel. Last semester, I took CHEM 102 with Marville and HATED it! It sucked so much and I ended with a C+. This semester in CHEM 104 with Ray I currently have an A. I really like his teaching style. Almost everyone I know say they really like Ray and would recommend that you take chemistry with Ray for sure. Hope this helps!
