chem 14 custom ucla book

does anyone know the isbn for this book? i can't fnd the custom ucla edition anyehre

The custom edition is a skinnier version of the original textbook. That, and it includes a study guide and perhaps a molecular model kit.

would it be okay to just buy the regular version?

Yes, you can but the regular version. You will just pay more, but you will receive all the chapters of the original book. The custom edition only covers chapters that are covered by the professor.

Look at the UCLA textbook website. If it doesn't list the custom edition, then it does not exist. You can look through the publisher website to see if other professors from other universities have a contract for other universities' custom editions, but that is not advised.

For 14A, the most you get is a solutions manual. That is optional.

You can only buy the custom edition at the UCLA store, and it's a good deal already.

wait so if u buy the regular version you wont have to buy any more books for the chem series?

but if u buy the custom...your gona have to buy a new book for every chem class?

I am wondering the same thing as bannana girl, I don't want to temporarily save money on the custom book, but then have to buy new books for the chem series when i can get one book to cover it all. Unless of course all the custom books together still costs less than the regular version itself, doubt it though.

i can sell you the custom version for chem 14b. I will include all the tests, quizzes, midterms, study guides, etc...everything you need to succeed...any offers?

BTW, you can get old tests and quizzes for most of your classes from the Student Retention Center, located in the Student Activities Center.

You buy custom editions for Chem 14A and Chem 14B; they'll end up costing less than the whole book, because you only need a selection of chapters from the book.

What's the price for a new chem book and a used chem book? And if someone were to sell you a chem 14a and chem 14b book, what would be a good price so as not to get ripped off?

You can check on facebook marketplace...someone's offering the full Chem book for only $50.

but its the 3rd edition

we need 4th

does edition make a difference?

so i found the actual textbook for cheaper than the custom ucla edition for 14a....definetely buy it right?

does edition make a difference?

you should email your professor... www.directory.ucla.edu

k so i emailed him and his answer wasnt very informative

arggg

Could you post what he said?

Second what hibiscuspink said.

he basically just posted a couple of lines of general statements like...

the textbook is much more exepncive than custome ucla edition

and stuff like that
i bet he has all of this typed up and just copies and pastes this to emails

Professors (and even TAs/graduate students) receive ridiculous amounts of emails... especially around exam periods and in the beginning of the course in regards to obtaining PTE numbers...

Is that the only real reason for buying the custom edition? If so, I guess I'll buy the full book because I think I can actually get it for cheaper than the custom edition, like banana girl did. Does anyone know if we can use the full book in the other courses in the series: 14b, 14c, etc...
