Should I take it over the summer or not? I hear from people that the class is pretty hard and time consuming. I could always take it during the school year, but I don't really want to take it with 2 other science classes. What do you guys think for those who have taken this class already? Btw, if I take it during the summer it would be the only class I will be taking.

Chem 153L is not hard and it isn't an overwhelming amount of work. As long as you keep up with studying for the quizzes and understand what's going on each week in lab, you'll do fine (especially since you pretty much do the same thing every single week...) I actually took it last quarter alongside 153B and another upper division class and did really well so, it's like its impossible. But, feel free to take it in the summer if you don't have any other classes planned.

really? all the reviews on bruin walk make it sound like a total nightmare.

yeah, it really wasn't that bad.

This dude might just be a genius. Get some other opinions..

Thanks for the reply. I signed up for the summer session for now, but I might drop it later and take math 3c instead. I'll see what happens.

megathunder,

just to set things straight... i'm not a dude. :-)

...but you are a genius then? :p

did you take chem 30BL? if so, what did you think of that?

If you consider a B+ average student a genius... I did take 30BL and it was terrible. Now THAT was a hard class. I have found though, that if you take 30BL and 30CL, any lab classes afterward, are pieces of cake (153L and 154.) and FYI (to any biochem majors out there,) 154 is the easiest lab class you'll ever have to take.

ok, so 153L should be less horrible than 30BL then.

im still wary of taking it with two other phy sci classes next quarter... :(
