I'm going to take thermodynamics next quarter, so I need some "relatively" easier elective to fill in 16 units.

i don't know exactly what is doable but, i'm taking Chem 153A and A&O 104 along with Chem 110A

i know... i'm probably going to regret it...

Are u taking these classes right now? I'm going to take 153c, a & o 104, chem 110 a and mcdb cm156 in winter quarter.

I need some counseling, cuz I think it's too overwhelming to take these kind of courses in a row.

hey, how come everyone choose Schwarz (chem 110a) ?

I'm taking those next quarter and i bet everyone chose Schwartz b/c it's at noon. I don't know anything about mcdb cm156 but I think you'll be fine with the others....

The system doesn't allow me to add chem 110a. It said I didn't meet all the pre-req, but I've done it all in community college. Well, I droped cm 156 cuz I can't run from dodd to young within 5 mins and replaced it with 153 b. 153c and 153b!!!

Can we really take 12 units?

yup... 12 units is fine to be considered a full-time student

um... i dunno if 153b and 153c together is a good idea...

But are we suppose to take 16 units according to something like expected degree whatever?

If I can add 110a, I will drop 153b. Seriously I think it's not a good idea to take b and c, but since I can't get in 110a and 153L.

i'm not really sure about the epected degree... it primarily depends on how many you've already completed. anyway, definitely go to the chem department and have them enroll you into 110a... like i said in the other thread, i went today and had no problems with having them enroll me.

I'll be taking 110A and 113A in Winter. I changed from Chemical Engineering to Chemistry. It seems like they love to kick their student's ass in ChemE, almost like a hazing if you wish. Funny, I took ChemE102A which is the equivalent of 110A, easy A perhaps?

Edit:

What's even more ludicrous, I would barely graduate in two years as a ChemE. If I had enrolled in summer before this fall, I could have graduated in one year as a chemistry major.

Not to mention, what's up with the 3-4 upper division engineering classes per quarter? Do they love making their students suffer. It's either take engineering and have no life, or take another major and have a life. I like the challenges from engineering but it seems like they box you into a position where you have no chance to fight back.

P.S. - I was one of the few dorks to finish IGETC as an ex-engineer.
