Chem 1A Book?

I am a Junior in HS. I am taking Chem 1a this summer with Chummni Li through the pre-collegiate program; where can I get a book for this course, what is the book, and how much does it cost?

I hope a few of you will be taking this course as well, but to those who aren't please help me from past experiences.

it’s not listed on the bookstore. not sure.

Anyone else?

i say wait till you go to class. sometimes you dont need the book.

I’m also taking this class in the summer.

the book is:

Texts: N. Tro, Chemistry, A Molecular Approach, First Edition, Prentice Hall, N. Y.

Lab Manual: available from U. C. bookstore

Discussion Manual: available from Ned’s Bookstore, 2480 Bancroft Way

I got this from my bspace account, the medium by which students “connect” to their classes. C.Li sent a syllabus to us and this was the book listed…

hope this helps

Where did you get this info? b-space?

Do you have info on this teacher?

Thank You for the help!!

Ok, I found b-space. Logged in and got my info.

Why did they not give me this site in the beginning…

Thank You again, you were a huge help!

About, the book. I can by the Text book online right? On Amazon, they hav ea value pack, with a sloutions manula and other stuff? Useful? Or just by a text book?

np…yeah you can buy it where its cheapest and its up to you if you want to buy the “value pack” but the textbook is required…

Sorry for my typos. Did that quickly and left.

Is the value pack useful? Or is text book sufficient enough? Where can I get the cheapest new book?

Also, do we need this by the 1st day of class?

Sorry for all the questions, I am lost. =/

the value pack is more than sufficient
the text book is sufficient and the cheapest used book/new book can be found online (amazon, ebay, etc.)

(the other supplies (lab book, etc) can be found at the berkeley book store (located in the under the MLK center) and Ned’s Book store–located on bancroft near campus)

more than often, you dont need the book by the first day of class but it should be purchased within the first week esp during summer sessions.

Anyone need a lab book? I have one with about 90 (out of 100) blank pages left…

You can continue using it in subsequent chem classes, too.

anyone know about Chunmei Li? Is she a difficult professor? Thanks.

Hey THE LENGEND,

I enrolled in the course, but can’t find my info on bspace. Can you PM me the syllabus for the course and class material? Thanks so much.

or Phoobah… thanks
