Chem 1a or 4a, chem 1a or 4a

heres another question about classes. i am going to be either and mcb major or chemistry. i took two years of chem in hs (ib program) and scored a 2 AP and a 4 IB. my question is, is 1a very different from 4a? is 4a extremely difficult or just a few more concepts? can someone explain the differences? experiences? basically, what are the differences between the two and which should i take? are the differences great?

the reason i want to go for a harder class is because people have been telling me that although grad schools may not look at class level/difficulty as much as grades, taking a harder class will also shape your experience. that in a harder class, professors will respect you more/talk to you more because you took the effort to take the next step. and that you may have more opportunity for a research position.

any of your input, experiences, comments, is very much appreciated!
