I am taking chem 1A next year and I have to decide which professor. Which is best, Majda, Stacy, or Arnold?

Different professors teach at different times but the class is basically the same. You will get the same midterms and finals as the other sections. You should pick the lecture that fits your schedule the best.

ok how about math 1A? Are any of the professors better: Christ, Borcherds, or Harrison?

Borcherds definitely. My roommate had him for Math 1B this past spring. As long as you actually do all the homework and go to class, it shouldn’t be bad at all.

Just a note on Borcherds though, he is probably gonna teach Math 1A in a way that is probably beyond the level of understanding of most lower div undergrads. You’ll probably have to learn the material on your own if you don’t know it yet. If you do know it, you’ll do great cause he gives fairly easy tests. That doesn’t mean everyone gets an A though, because there are people who still fail.

Majda has a heavy accent but isn’t too hard to understand for most people. Neither Majda nor Stacy are excellent professors and I don’t know too much about Arnold. Try checking ratemyprofessor.com for more detailed information about each professor.
