Chem 3A or Physics 7A at community college for summer?

I might do summer session at Cal instead.... but probably not. A local community college is just the easiest choice for me.

So I'm not sure which one would be the better choice at a community college, considering I'd have to take either Chem 3B or Physics 7B in fall 2011.

Thanks!

I think it depends on your major. If you’re engineering you could probably use a better foundation in physics (so take 7A at Cal). If you’re bio take 7A over summer and 3A at Cal.

You don’t really need to know Chem 3A stuff super well for Chem 3B in terms of reactions and mechanisms. What you do start to develop though is “ochem intuition” which is definitely useful in 3B. If you decide to take 3A at your CC, buy the ochem book we use here and follow along while taking the class. You’ll need it anyway for 3B.

I’m majoring in bioengineering… soo hahah what would you suggest then?

Based on the recommended schedule

[Major Requirements](http://bioeng.berkeley.edu/program/bioemajor.php)

it seems that the minimum required pace is to have chem 3a and physics 7a done by spring?

I would just take it at CC and then fill in any missing gaps on your own. It’s a lot cheaper this way and the material covered is most likely equivalent.

You don’t need to take chem 3b for bioe anymore, but it can count as a technical elective now.
