Czworkowski is now teaching Brydges MWF class @ 3 ! Basically, Czworkowski is now teaching Chem 6A only on MWF and Brydges only on tues. and thurs!!

I KNOW!!! Crazy stuff!

So is this a good thing or a bad thing???Very mixed reviews on "rate my professor" about him! Anybody have some input?

he's generally deemed a slightly-below-average while brydges is still a black box ... if the possibility of tina johnson's class is gone (and it seems like it is), i wouldn't really worry about getting one or the other. it's only a single class, and i feel that in the gchem series, everyone tests from the books anyway.

just curious, what does the term 'black box' mean?

does UCSD usually notify students when these things happen? and by "black box," i think astrina means that since brydges is a new teacher, no one knows how effective/difficult of a teacher she is.

^that's exactly right. though i guess i'm at the school where she last taught and i'm sure a few of my current students have had her for chemistry ... but whatever.

nope, tritonlink won't notify you for these "minor" changes. if they're doing something like switching class time or class location, they will. it's not automatic either; usually the sponsoring department's student affairs will initiate the request.

if i were you, i would just go follow the switch to brydges if possible.

had czworkowski for two quarters because i had no choice (or delay a quarter...) one of the worst profs i ever had (on the few times i even attended class) with a monotone voice and dreadful videos with no substance. read off the powerpoint with no added detail (of substance). i think the only other profs i'd put in the same category as this guy are the professors in the physics dept. ;)

maybe i'm making him worse than he really seems. just study from the book, do the problems and you'll be fine. there is no need to attend lecture...if you were desperate enough, he puts the slides online anyway, if i remember correctly.

what?? and then chance not getting off the waitlist?? all the chem classes are full.

Plus the fact that no one knows much about brydges. What if she turns out to be harsh considering she's new and wants to make a name for herself.
