i'm poking into chem6A without any firm high school chemistry education!!!!!!! so the professors will make a difference for me to decide if i will major in chemistry!!!!

from rate my professor, hoeger was just known to be funny and interesting ...but tests beings super hard. trogler seemed easier but less interesting and all the reviews were mostly from chem 6C!

Hoeger’s a much better teacher than Trogler (who is pretty boring). Hoeger also has the tenure equivalent for university lecturers, which is pretty much a guarantee that he knows his stuff and how to teach it. (Professors, on the other hand, are hired for their research potential – and teach as a requirement, not necessarily as a passion. Many profs who dislike teaching get away with the requirement by hosting advanced seminar-style classes, which is just an opportunity for them to catch up with literature in their field, not to teach very much.)
