Chem and APES at the same time

Hello. I am a very science-oriented student who is also good at math. However, the only APs my school offers are Calculus AB and Calculus BC. I want to self study AP Chem and APES and take them both this May. I have looked through some preparation books, and I am pretty sure I can handle them. However, I haven't registered for the courses yet because I found out from the CollegeBoard website that both tests occur at the same time (May 6th morning).

Is there anyway to get around this and take both. I don't want to take either next year because I plan take at school AP Calc AB and to self-study AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Physics B, and possibly one of the AP Physics Cs, which is already an overloaded schedule.

I want to go into either medicine or biotechnology in college.

1) When one wishes to take take two AP exams that are offered at the same time, one exam is taken on the make-up date. My child took AP Chem and APES in the same year, along with a number of other students, and APES was given on the scheduled make-up date. This happens all the time.

2) You need to check with your school to see if they will order the exams and proctor them for you, otherwise you must find another school that will allow you to write the exams.

2a) I believe the deadline for doing this already has passed for this year.

3) Have you looked at any old exams or materials for APChem?? You essentially are giving yourself two months to learn the material and prepare for the exam. This is not AP Psychology; cramming will not work all that well.

3a) I am not certain, but I believe some schools will expect to see your lab notebook if you took the AP Chem exam without taking the class before they will grant credit.

3b) Looking ahead, I think you will regret trying to cram for AP Chem if your goal is to skip freshman general chem in college and jump ahead to orgo. I think it would be difficult to retain what you learned and have a solid foundation on which to build the rest of your learning.

If you plan to go into medicine, you will still need to take gen chem/bio when you’re there for med school, but self-studying the exams wouldn’t hurt - it just wouldn’t get you out of the class

I already started studying for ap chem and being naturally math/science geared, I can get a five, or perhaps four, by May. And the deadline hasn’t passed yet. However, thanks for information about taking both exams. I decided that it would be best to just take APES next year. Thanks anyway.
