Chem. Engineering at Lehigh

Hi:

I have been accepted by Lehigh and Vtech. I know Lehighs programm for chem.engineering is very good. Does anybody know how Lehigh's programm for chem. engineering is?

Thanks

Vtech is surrounding area is important to you. New woman president's field is chem engineer, so I'm sure it has and will be a top flight program, but virginia is a beautiful place to be. Lehigh is on a large hill, few flat spots. You must love walking and exercising.

Lehigh has an excellent program for Chemical engineering that has been around since 1904. It is one of the most established programs at the university and celebrates successful graduates every year. Lehigh bought the research laboratory of Bethlehem Steel when it closed which is now the Chemical Engineering Processing Lab. The facilities and professors are excellent, and Chem E majors graduating from Lehigh receive some of the highest starting salaries in the engineering fields.

Kodiak - you sound knowledgeable about Lehigh - perhaps you can help my son decide between:
Lehigh (Mech Engr.)
OR
Umass - Honors program Colegel of Engr (mech engr)

If he does well at UMass - will his knowledge/skills/degree be viewed any differently that one from Lehigh?

I appreciate all input - 5/1 is almost here, and he hasn't decided yet!

MomMary,

I can't say that I know much about UMass, but the mechanical engineering program is excellent here as well. Lehigh started off as solely an engineering school, so it has had the most time to perfect those departments. In terms of degrees, I can say that people come from all over the country to recruit here and they usually offer so many jobs first semester that everyone has already accepted an offer by the time second semester recruiting comes around. I would definitely recommend Lehigh's engineering program to your son - good luck with the decision.

Thanks for your reply kodiak - much appreciated!

Thanks for your help :)
