Is it possible to do well on the Chem SATII if I study for about ten weeks from the Barron's book? I'm taking a NY Regents prep Chemistry class right now, but not AP Chem, and I don't plan to take AP Chem. I want to get a 700+, if not a 750+ (although an 800 would be ideal). Has anyone gone down a path similar to mine? Will not taking AP Chem really hinder me? Please advise.

Don’t do it.

I took an Honors chem class in NY and got a 760 with minimal studying (I regularly scored from 750 to 790 on practice tests). My teacher was also the AP Chem teacher though so she prepared us extremely well.

My friend that had the “bad” honors chem teacher took it and still got a 700. I think you should buy a review book, do the practice tests, and figure it out from there. I’m pretty sure they might release some actual tests also since my teacher had a couple.

Is the Barron’s E-Z Chemistry book good? I already have it, although I’m willing to buy their official SAT II prep book for Chem if it’ll yield better results.

bump bump bump. i need the same advice! help please!!
