So I took AP chemistry my junior and passed with a 4 and I took AP calculus my senior year and i'm fairly confident that I passed the Calc exam as well (if I were to guess I would say 4). So my question is should I skip Chem1 and Calc1 since I passed the exam or retake to get stronger in those areas? My major is chemical engineering so both are important towards my major.

I say take them if your that confident and take the easy A. Warning you that gen chem is killer. Take Gower if you can. Calc 1 is easy and calc 2 will make you cry so definitely ease yourself in with calc 1.

Take calc 1 and chem 1 at UF. AP Calc does not cover everything covered at UF and gen chem is supposed to be killer. Take the classes get an easy A. I am also going into engineering and I am confident with my AP Calc/Ap Chem score this year but I am still not chancing it.

Absolutely take both again. Both are weed out courses both are hard. Chem 1 is insane. Calc 1 is no cake walk.

Plus since you will be a freshman you need to get used to living on your own so if the classes are easy so be it.

Good luck to you.

I appreciate the feedback!! I will take Chem 1 and Calc 1 to hopefully get an A in both knowing its not going to be easy but still and start college with a good GPA
