<p>Hello everyone, this is my first post though I've been a lurker far awhile.
Anyway, I'm planning on applying to TAMU's ChemE program as a transfer student, I have 64 credit hours (including lower level math classes and 4 hours that won't transfer) from a Dallas community college and a 3.95 GPA (My one B was in Cal II if that matters). I have completed most of the degree track D table 1 short of physics 2426 (physics 219). And I am short History 2 and Government 2 in table 2. I have also taken one semester of Organic Chemistry.</p>
<p>I plan to apply for spring and I could take physics 2426 this fall along with cal III and O-chem2. Or would it be better to take physics 2426 during the summer so I can have a grade associated with the course? I would prefer to take the course in the fall because my financial situation is a little sticky right now, and I think I could gain more from a full semester. I'm going to speak with a counselor from the department, but I just wanted to hear your guy's thoughts.</p>
<p>I talked to the Admissions folks in the ChemE department and they said that they probably won’t accept any transfers for this coming spring semester. Does anyone here have any experience in entering one engineering major and changing to another or getting in from a different department?</p>
<p>I would like to know what is the possibility of Tamu accepting any transfer’s in the spring semester? even into General studies? My boyfriend didnt make it for the fall, so were both hoping for the Spring for him. </p>

<p>I spoke to an advisor again and I was told that all students hoping to transfer into engineering are required to have completed physics 2 (219 or 2426) by the time they apply.</p>
<p>To anyone who might be interested:
I spoke with another advisor recently and she said that the department would not accept any transfers for the 2010-2011 school year and that it was doubtful that that they would accept any transfer applicants even for the 2011-2012 school year. </p>
<p>Anyway I’m a little bummed out, guess I’ll have to look elsewhere. </p>
<p>They told me it has something to do the large amount of freshmen entering the department, and unless the requirements change they don;t expect to take any transfers next year.</p>
