so i hear that the labs are hard
would it be easier if i had a previous student's lab book as a template? do they labs change from quarter to quarter
i am in pang by the way

labs generally are the same. the write ups arent so much hard as they are tedious. having someones old notebook helps, but obviously dont be too reliant on it because you'll be screwed for the tests.

Honestly, you will learn the most by writing your own lab reports. Yes, looking at past quarter's notebook will help you complete the reports and give you good grades, but as VTEC said, you will fail tests if you solely do this. In other words, you have to study the topics in lecture.

Lab reports do change from each quarter, but only one question at most for each report. There was an interesting situation when I took 20L .

My instructor forgot to include a given data for a slightly modified question, so that it was impossible to obtain the answer. However, about half of the students' group reports presented the answer from last quarter's question. (which had sufficient data).

Shows you how many people do it the night before .

i do not recommend that you use an old notebook as a template...

reason #1: it is considered cheating and if you get caught, you're screwed.

the labs aren't too hard, IF you get a good TA. Ask around and see who is good, because if you are unlucky and get an A-hole TA, you will be at a HUGE disadvantage.

exams are generally of medium difficulty

oh yea, and i wouldn't recommend getting previous ppl's lab reports. from observation, the people who do this end up doin worse than those who take the extra 30 min per week to learn the material and do the work on their own.

anyone have a previous lab booklet I could have? ;) PM me!!!

To add on to BH, different TAs grade differently.

Also, josephr115, why don't you ask one of the brothers? I'm sure AEPi has test files, and I'm pretty sure that at least a couple have taken 14BL.

Do we have to purchase a lab coat from UCLA, or can we use alternative ones from past high school/community college courses?

as long as its about knee length it should be fine.

HAHAHA my dad dressed up as a doctor for Halloween, and we have red nail polish splattered all over the "lab coat", can I use that?
