For most schools that I am applying to, I am applying for a chemistry major and planning on also adding biology for a dual major. I want to work in the environmental/conservation field, so I feel these majors will prepare me for that without being a “soft major” like environmental science. However, at Colorado School of Mines, they do not offer biology, so I am left to choose from Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. Which do you think would better prepare me? And would Environmental Chemistry be considered a “soft major”?
The classes are exactly the same the first year. Decide after that.
