Has anybody taken it?
What should we study to prepare ourselves?

i am taking it this saturday but from what i gathered it is pretty easy. many people say that its just a test of the first few weeks of a chemistry class in HS. this is what somebody told me
"just know the basics. they really dont ask anything hard, although there was this random question on natural logs that i forgot how to do. know what atomic number is, the relationship between moles and molarity, how to convert meters to millimeters or kilometers, and how to balance chemical equations. if you need more specifics, just message me and ill try to remember."

i was just wondering if we needed to know the periodic table really well and what do we have to know about logs and chemistry?

you need to know what each number means on the periodic table. for example what does the atomic number mean. there was a question about pH=-log(H+) but i didn't know how to do that problem.

is there a lot of math on the chemisty placement test

there are a lot of unit conversions. i remember one where they give you an equation with only variables and tell you to solve for x. but other then that i don't really reemmber much anymore

The math they give you can be done with a calc. I passed this test without studying or doing chem for 2 years. They have a table for you...

like a table of all the equations you need?

they give you a periodic table. i am not sure what equation table you are talkinga bout but i don't think you'll need to memorize any equations. for sure you don't need to know those gas equations like dalton's law, ideal gas law, etc.

we can use a calculator on the chem test, right?

yeah you can use any calculator. i used a ti-89 titanium though it was a bit overkill for such a simple exam
