Chemistry study group here!

A small part of the SAT II Chemistry is memorizing the colors of that different chemicals emit when they burn.

Here is a link to the colors:

SparkNotes: SAT Chemistry: Some Common Lab Techniques

My job for you guys is to think of acronyms that can help us memorize the colors!

I'll start (pathetic attempt):

Fe=Gold

Iron man has gold armor.

So gold is red?

Just memorize them; there’s not that many and it’s really not that hard.

No Iron is gold

Here is the acronym:

IRON man has GOLD armor.

Anyone else have some?

I thought Fe= iron and Au = gold. And I though iron is suppose to be grey colored.

Not during the flame test.

Yes, pure gold is, well, gold. And pure Iron is grey, but when you burn the chemical it emits a different color.
