CHEMISTRY subject test -- self study tips?

Hello, I'm a sophomore in an international private school in Japan.
This is my first time taking any SAT, and it's a Subject test. Chemistry.
I'm doing well in my Chemistry class at school, with a high A.
Although I'm planning to take AP Chem next year as a Junior, I just felt like I should give it a shot this year, for the sake of experience, hopefully getting a competitive score, and I've got the time and knowledge.
I've heard a lot of people who don't take the AP get very high grades on the Subject test!

I took a practice test without any review and I got a 600..
I don't know if that's good or bad or in between or what.
I'd like some help though, with studying tips. I plan on studying out of the entire textbook plus I borrowed two library books on the Chemistry Subject Test:
- Princeton Review Cracking the SAT Chemistry
- Kaplan SAT Subject Test Chemistry

What should I study, and in what order? Should I memorize certain things?
Obviously they won't provide you with formulas, so should I memorize them?
Should I just know the main concepts? We get a periodic table, right?
If we cannot use a calculator on the test, how do we solve the word problems on gas laws and moles, etc?
Is it possible that both answers for the Relationship Analysis questions may be true but it is not CE?
Can I write on the periodic table? Is a periodic table available? (It better be)
Thanks in advance!

for computation questoins, either the math is really easy to the point where a calculator is redundant or the answer choices will be written out as equations that arent actually multiplied/divided out.

yes, sometimes both of the things will be true and it will not be CE

thus, the possible outcomes are
T, F
F, T
F, F
T, T
T, T, CE

and so you have 5 answer choices.

yes you may write on the periodic table that is given, but you may not tear it out of your book.

and dont memorize stuff. just read ur review books and youll be fine.

In my personal opinion, the chem SAT is one of the hardest mostly because of that God-awful section with the CEs etc. If you want my advice, I think you might be getting a little antzy and should wait until after AP Chem, because you will do sooo much better. Regardless of how well you do now, you will do better then. It’s an almost guarantee. So, I would wait.

Thanks for the responses!
dreamsofivy, I really have nothing to lose, and I have so much time this year compared to next spring, when I’ll be studying for 3 AP’s and taking Math 2 in June.
Thanks for your information though! I am planning to take it (Chem SAT II) again later anyways, and I will work very hard on the Relationship Analysis questions!
